I Want You Back

I am feeling like I need more interaction with you, fair listeners….so lets try something new together.  I will find songs that mean something to me for some reason and start a discussion….then you can take it from there.  Here is my starter:

SONOS – I Want You Back

(click the “x” right away to turn off that ad when it comes up…sorry!)

I dedicate this post to Barak Obama.  I Want You Back.  Won’t you please let me back in your heart?  I am a white, mother of twins, bilingual, activist, foodie, urban gardener, boycotter of Wal-Mart, feminist, crazy ass rock and roll, fun, open minded leftie, polyamorous, bisexual, transgender, gay, lesbo, facebook using, twitter freakin’, lonely, asexual, hungry, curvy, chocolaty, Black, Mexican, German, Cuban, Zapatistan, marajuana legalizin’, anti-war, pro-troops, over-it, OBAMA VOTER!!!!  Get it together man.

So what do you think?  First, how cool is this a’capella minor key version of “I Want You Back”?  Second, is there, at this point, anything that Obama can do to recover our faith?  I am going to keep my opinions to myself for a while….

OMG! I LOVE this song. Truly. I don’t have much to add to any discussion. I love fresh, cool stuff like this. Thanks for bringing some new life to my iPod.

Two observations and then a comment:

    1. Katharine in the video looks like Rebecca from Girl’s Gone Child. (Hello, my name is Kristen and I spend too much time reading blogs.)

    2. I want to be friends with your mom. And friends with Kitch too, of course.

I feel tremendous frustration with the state of our country; nothing irritates me more than what I think of as the growing civility gap = the inability of people to disagree respectfully; the lack of dialogue; the seeming disinterest in working from a place of sameness rather than arguing from a place of difference.

I can’t comment! Apparently this video “has content owned by Vevo who has decided to block it in my country”.

Uh, I live in Australia. Not, uh, China or Iran. But then again the government here has plans to cut off our internet access at any mom..

Kristen – you know this group Sonos are really amazing sounding, but in a way they are not ready for the close up. That is part of what I like about them – a bit of nerdiness always appeals to me.

I like your comment about the civility gap and I think it applies as much to moderates and progressives as to the us vs. them frustration that I have right now. I am pretty far on the left (obviously) but Obama brought a lot of people together form the left and middle. Its killing me that seems to be lost now because there isn’t any replacement and if we can’t work together the polarization is going to get worse.

THANKS for your very thoughtful comment!
