We (YOU!) should still feel young even when we look in the mirror! We are young enough to have young children, rather than older children, right! Young enough to find the energy to raise the kids and pursue our creative desires! We are YOUNG! Maybe not quite as ditzy, but its fun every now and then.

I love the comment on how we teeter on the line between our youth and our wisdom - I don't want to say "old age" because frankly, unless I look in the mirror I still feel like I'm living my younger, "dizty American" days!

Thanks Mama! I felt like I was swirling in a fog with this one, and didn't know if people would really get it....but my favorite people DO get it! I guess I just have good taste in other weird people like me! Happy New Year, May 2010 bring you love, giggles, and several sunny afternoons by yourself with a book.

I love this line:

"I miss my brainy bimbo days
Lured ‘em in with tits then
Handed them the dossier"

I appreciate the way that your song captures both the good and the bad of getting older - with age comes experience, maybe even wisdom, but also more challenges, entanglements.

May 2010 bring us all more of the good stuff and less of the bad!

Oh you are welcome! I have made each of those calls you mention myself lately as have many of my dearest friends. Some have come within days of losing their house. Its all so serious all the time. It got me thinking about how carefree and risky I was in my 20s and how wonderfully fun it was.

Wow, did you write this for me? I was on the phone yesterday with the bank - checking balances - I was on the phone with unemployment - checking when my benefits will be terminated - I was on the phone with a mortgage crisis counselor - crazy shit! Thanks for the affirmation.
